The best AI visibility tool is the one that tracks the questions that matter to your brand at the right coverage and lets you turn findings into work you can act on. More platform logos, a broader database, or a lower entry price won't make this decision on their own.

To make the choice easier, we look at Maya, Profound, Peec AI, OtterlyAI, Semrush, and Ahrefs across six different evaluation scenarios. This article is published by Maya AI, and Maya is one of the products being evaluated. The comparison is based on official product descriptions and makes no claim of an independent performance test or accuracy ranking.

For which job are you comparing AI visibility tools?

Your priorityOption to reviewQuestion to answer in the demo

This mapping doesn't mean "only this tool does this job." It's a starting point for building your shortlist. Your own question set and a sample report should decide the final call.

What you need to know about the six options

Maya: from source discovery to content decisions

Maya is an option you can evaluate around AI visibility tracking and source analysis. If the question "which URLs are being cited, and which of our pages is that about?" matters in particular, review the source analysis approach. Separately confirm that the feature and platform you need are included in the plan you choose.

Profound: read the entry scope correctly

Profound Starter is, as of the check date, a 50-prompt offer focused on ChatGPT. For a multi-platform need, don't use the entry price as if it were the scope of the whole product. Evaluate the answers your shortlisted plan will actually collect using the same questions.

Peec AI: question, model, and project allocation

Peec AI Starter defines, as of the check date, 50 prompts, three selected models, and one project. What matters for you is not so much the total model list as which three models these are and how the question allowance fits your workflow.

OtterlyAI: starting with a small measurement set

OtterlyAI Lite offers a starter option with 15 search prompts. This size can be worth evaluating to try out your core questions. For many clients or a broad question set, don't carry the Lite price into an agency budget without accounting for the added scope.

Semrush: account for your existing SEO workflow

Semrush's SEO + AI Search plans handle both areas together. For a team already using Semrush, the choice is broader than comparing the full subscription cost against the cost of a new AI tracking tool. Separate the jobs you do today with your existing plan from the output that's missing.

Ahrefs Brand Radar: separate the index from custom tracking

Ahrefs Brand Radar offers the AI Visibility Index and custom prompt tracking as separate offerings. The data you use for broad market discovery and the visibility on questions only you have defined are not the same sample. That distinction needs to be visible in your report.

Test your shortlist with the same five questions

Throughout a demo, don't just watch the canned examples. Pick five questions from your own needs: one category question, one purchase comparison, one Turkish-language question, one brand-facts question, and one niche use case.

In each tool, open the answer, its date, and its source links. Check whether the brand name is matched to the wrong company. Verify that the source actually points to the relevant page. Finally, prepare a one-page report from these five results.

If you can't explain in the report why a score changed, more data may not solve the problem. If an analyst has to keep merging extra files to reach a conclusion, add that effort to the cost of your choice as well.

Set a separate acceptance criterion for Turkish tracking

A Turkish interface and accurate tracking of Turkish-language questions are not the same feature. Test the inflected forms of the brand name, its Turkish characters, and similarly named companies. Manually verify results in questions where the same word is used in different contexts.

A tool being "multilingual" is not proof of accuracy for your brand. Ask your shortlist for sample answers and the reasoning behind each match. Showing country and language coverage together in a regular report makes it easier to explain differences that surface later.

Justify your choice in a single sentence

Your decision should take this shape: "We're choosing this tool because it tracks this question set on these platforms and lets us prepare the report we need with this much effort." If you complete the sentence with a product logo or a feature count, you may be missing a test step.

For agency needs, see the client-based tool comparison. To add Maya to your shortlist, review the product scope and evaluate it with your own questions.
